A boil water advisory continues in Richmond on Tuesday following a winter storm-related outage that caused issues at a water treatment facility serving the city.

As of 8 AM two pumps were working and currently filling the reservoir but water pressure is expected back until this afternoon.

The City of Richmond has issued a Boil Water Advisory immediately and until further notice for all Richmond residents.

Some residents in Richmond may be without water on Monday after a major winter storm knocked out power to the Virginia city's water reservoir system, causing it to malfunction.

The city of Richmond, in partnership with the Virginia Department of Health, issued an immediate boil water advisory on Monday, urging all residents to conserve water and boil it before consumption until further notice.

As of now, some areas in Richmond remain without water, while residents who do have access to water are advised to boil it before use.

The City of Richmond has announced Tuesday morning that crews are continuing to work to restore water following a boil water advisory for some and a lack of water service for others in the city.

"Some customers may experience a total loss of water service, while others may experience varying degrees of loss in water pressure," the city said in its release.
