Meta sent employees an internal memo on Friday outlining what to expect as the tech giant implements its latest round of layoffs affecting 5% of its 72,000-person workforce, around 3,000 employees. A memo obtained by Business Insider and posted to Meta's internal Workplace forum by Vice President of Human Resources Janelle Gale said that employees affected by the performance-based cuts will be notified Monday morning through an email sent to their work and personal email addresses.

Meta is laying off 3,000 employees on Monday as part of performance-based job cuts. Affected workers will receive emails and lose access to company systems.

Janelle Gale, Meta's Head of People, said notifications will be sent to employees losing their jobs from 5:00am local time on Monday in most countries, including the US. Notably, the layoff plan will not impact workers in Germany, France, Italy, and the Netherlands owing to local regulations.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, plans to proceed with its anticipated company-wide layoffs next week, while also accelerating the hiring of machine learning engineers, according to internal memos shared with staff and accessed by the news agency Reuters on Friday.
