Mohammed Shami had undergone surgery in February to repair his Achilles tendon. Since then he has been working really hard to regain his fitness levels and make a comeback to the international scene.

Shami, formerly with Gujarat Titans, missed the previous season due to knee surgery. He made his comeback to competitive cricket earlier this month, playing for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy. Shami is expected to join the Indian team in Australia for the latter part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Shami previously played for Gujarat Titans and even after a stellar performance in the World Cup as well as the Domestic circuit, Shami wasn't retained by Titans.
