Ever since Randy Moss took a hiatus from ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown due to an unnamed health issue, prayers have been sent the Hall of Fame wide receiver’s way. But with a report about what exactly the health issue was — something private that shouldn’t be thrown around on social media — there have been a lot more prayers.

“For nearly a decade, Randy has been an invaluable member of the team, consistently elevating ‘Countdown’ with his insight and passion. He has ESPN’s full support, and we look forward to welcoming him back when he is ready,” the network said in a statement Friday.

Randy Moss surprised the NFL world last week when he announced that he's battling a health issue and would need to wear glasses while appearing on ESPN's NFL Sunday Countdown. A few days later the network shared that Moss would be taking a leave of absence for an extended time to "focus on a personal health challenge.
