A new animated holiday movie, That Christmas starring Brian Cox, is set to hit Netflix on December 4 (find the trailer below, in case you missed it). This summer, it was announced that Ed Sheeran would contribute a new song, called “Under The Tree,” to the film, and that song is out now.

That Christmas is based on the children’s book series by Richard Curtis, who wrote the screenplay for the modern Christmas classic Love, Actually. Curtis directed Sheeran’s video for “Under the Tree,” choosing to film the clip in Southwold in Suffolk, which evokes the movie’s fictional town of Wellington-on-Sea.

This year is all about Richard Curtis' career firsts. The rom-com titan has now made his music-video directorial debut ahead of the premiere of his first animated film, "That Christmas." Curtis directs Ed Sheeran and "Bridgerton" actress Claudia Jessie in the "Under The Tree" video.

‘Under the Tree’ is an emotional love song in which the singer is pining after a lost love at Christmas. “There is nothing under the tree / That I wished for / I want you to come back to me / and be like before,” Ed sings in the chorus of the song.
