PORTLAND, Maine — Snow has begun over southern Maine as of early evening and snow will become steadiest during the middle of the night and work inland, up to about Bangor. Roads will likely get slick late tonight. The snow will quickly collapse back to the coast during Saturday's predawn hours.

There is potential for snow squalls Wednesday afternoon after a clipper system brought several inches of snow to multiple communities during the morning.
