Alabama, South Carolina, and Ole Miss are on the bubble, with Texas, Tennessee and Georgia likely three of the 12 teams. The highest-ranked three-loss SEC team that misses the CFP will likely play in the Citrus Bowl, with other SEC teams playing in the other eight bowls with conference affiliations.

South Carolina handled everything they could control. After a 3-3 start to the season, the Gamecocks did all within their power to surge back into relevancy. A six-game winning streak was capped off with Carolina’s road victory in the Palmetto Bowl over the rival Clemson Tigers.
