Ja Morant had 27 points and seven assists as the Memphis Grizzlies held a double-digit lead through most of the second half defeating the injury-riddled New Orleans Pelicans 120-109 in an NBA Cup game.

The Pelicans are getting healthier. Guards C.J. McCollum and Dejounte Murray are back after long absences. Potential starters Brandon Ingram (right calf soreness) and Trey Murphy (left knee contusion) are both listed as questionable. Pelicans star Zion Williamson (hamstring) remains out.

For eight games, Memphis Grizzlies fans patiently waited for Ja Morant to return from his hip injury. He finally returned on November 25 against the Portland Trail Blazers. Unfortunately, he immediately was sidelined again with a knee contusion that kept him out against the Detroit Pistons on November 27.
