A contractor hanging up holiday lights at a Wellesley home suffered a life-threatening electric shock and was revived by a defibrillator on Wednesday, according to police.

A worker was seriously hurt when he received an electric shock while hanging Christmas lights on a tree in Wellesley, Massachusetts, on Wednesday morning, police said.

A Wellesley police officer said that the contractor "will be pretty lucky if he survives" after he was resuscitated by first responders on Thanksgiving Eve

Police said the man was installing holiday lights on a large tree using a pole, which appeared to come in close proximity, or actual contact, with a primary electrical line on a utility pole.
