"The current situation is that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has said that it will only accept hosting the Champions Trophy on a hybrid model if the board agrees that in future all ICC events will be on same system with Pakistan not going to India to play matches," the source told PTI.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has proposed that it will not send its team to India for any ICC events until 2031. The PCB is demanding that the hybrid model be implemented for tournaments hosted in India, including the 2026 T20 World Cup, the 2029 Champions Trophy, and the 2031 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.

Cricket should win, that's most important but with respect for all. We are going to do what's best for cricket. Whichever formula we go for, it would be on equal terms,' PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi told reporters after the virtual meeting with the ICC on Saturday.

The Champions Trophy, which was originally scheduled to be in Pakistan, will now adopt the hybrid model amid Indias unwillingness to travel to Pakistan.

The International Cricket Council are yet to reach a decision over the schedule for the 2025 Champions Trophy following a meeting on Friday.

Earlier, the PCB had been vociferous in their demands that the Champions Trophy not be shifted to accommodate the whims of the BCCI and the Indian government.
