One of the strongest storms we've seen in Massachusetts in quite a while will bring rain and snow on Thanksgiving.The holiday will essentially be a washout with rain expected from mid-morning until late in the evening Thursday.

The 22News Storm Team is watching a storm system that will be in the area by the end of the week. There are still some questions when it comes to exact timing but parts of Massachusetts may see a coating to 4 inches of snow.

Snow and rain are in the forecast for some parts of the U.S. as travelers hit the road and head to the airport for Thanksgiving.

The 22News Storm Team issued a Weather Alert for rain and snow Thursday that could make for some tough travel. Snow accumulation is likely in the Berkshires and foothills.

Several locations throughout western Massachusetts will be offering free Thanksgiving meals for those in need.
