Outgoing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Thursday the formation of a Canada-U.S. relations council to support the federal government as it deals with incoming U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat to impose a 25% tariff on all imports from Canada.
The group includes representatives from the automotive industry, the nuclear power sector, agriculture and the labour movement.
Trade expert Steve Verheul, businesswoman and television personality Arlene Dickinson, and Ambassador Kirsten Hillman were also listed as members of the new council, unveiled by the Prime Minister’s Office days before Donald Trump’s inauguration.
