JAKARTA, Indonesia — Indonesia signed a deal on Friday to repatriate an ailing French national who has been on death row since 2007 for alleged drug offenses. In 2015 Serge Atlaoui won a last-minute reprieve from being executed by a 13-member firing squad.

Serge Atlaoui, 61, said to be suffering from cancer, was arrested in 2005 and due to be executed in 2015, when he was granted a reprieve.

Serge Atlaoui, 61, who had been sentenced to death for drug offenses in Indonesia in 2007 and has long proclaimed his innocence, is now due to be sent back to France, after months of talks between the two countries.
