Brendan Carr closed out his first week as FCC chairman by coming to decisions on four more leadership positions within the commission.

WASHINGTON, D.C. —FCC chairman Brendan Carr finished his first week heading the agency by announcing more key staff appointments. Those included naming Ira Keltz acting chief engineer, Office of Engineering and Technology.

That’s because he authored the FCC chapter of the Heritage Foundation’s wishlist for a Donald Trump presidency. In that chapter, Carr proposes actions including: limiting immunity for tech companies under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act,

"I look forward to working with them as we advance the Commission’s agenda and deliver great results for the American people.

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr has decided on additional leadership appointments within the commission, including acting bureau leadership.

At a time when very few broadcast stations are owned by minorities, Carr said diversity, equity and inclusion efforts constituted “invidious forms of discrimination”
