A Jamestown man is dead after an officer involved shooting early Tuesday morning.Jamestown Police say they were called to Fred’s Den Bar shortly after 1 a.m. Dec. 3, after reports of a man standing in the parking lot behind the bar who was armed with a gun and a knife.

Jamestown Police have identified the man who was shot and killed by police following a shooting incident outside of Fred’s Den early Tuesday. The shooter was 27-year-old Devin Quinn Fontenot of Jamestown.

JAMESTOWN — "He definitely saved some lives," said Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger. Edinger is referring to the police sergeant, who he says is a five-year veteran of the force, who shot and killed an active shooter outside of Freds Den in downtown Jamestown.
