Monday, 7:50 a.m. PST Cal Fire data marked the Palisades Fire at 59% containment and the Eaton Fire at 87% containment, listing no other active fires in Los Angeles as a red flag warning extended through several parts of southern California.

Some residents were slowly returning to their homes in the Pacific Palisades, as containment of the deadly Palisades Fire has grown to 56% ahead of another dangerous Santa Ana wind event expected to bring isolated gusts as high as 100 mph Monday.

Firefighters are making great progress in the fight against the Palisades Fire, which is at 52% containment as of Sunday morning. More winds are expected in the forecast, however, which has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Fire Weather Watch.
