Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr said on Friday that any impeachment complaint against his estranged vice president Sara Duterte, who over the weekend made threats against his life, would only tie down Congress and not help people.

The complaints are for allegedly assaulting authorities and disobeying orders in a recent altercation in Congress.

The president’s security has been boosted after his deputy’s ‘active threat’ that were ‘made so brazenly in public’.
