Washington Commanders starting right guard Sam Cosmi has a torn ACL and is out for the remainder of the NFL playoffs. Coach Dan Quinn revealed the “unfortunate news” Sunday after Cosmi injured his right knee in the Commanders’ 45-31 victory at Detroit that sent them to the NFC championship game.

Unfortunately, this time, the price that Washington paid for the victory may be higher than usual after guard Sam Cosmi went down with an apparent knee injury on running back Brian Robinson Jr.'s first touchdown run of the game. Head coach Dan Quinn offered an update to us on Sunday.

As expected Sam Cosmi and Daron Payne are inactive today for the NFC Championship game against the Eagles. The game marks the first time the Commanders and Eagles have met in a NFC playoff game since the 1990 season.

The Commanders will play in their first NFC championship since the 1991 season next Sunday. They'll do so without one of their best offensive linemen.
