Downey Jr. will be making his return to the MCU in the 2026 blockbuster after having first starred in the franchise as Iron Man from the 2008 eponymous flick until ‘Avengers: Endgame’ five years ago. His previous MCU appearances have collectively grossed over $22 billion worldwide.

Anthony Mackie has a big task ahead as he prepares to lead the Marvel Cinematic Universe into a new era in Captain America: Brave New World. Mackie reveals how that task was bestowed upon him, recalling a wholesome moment with previous Captain America actor Chris Evans when finding out he'd become the beloved hero.

In a newly released interview when Mackie and Danny Ramirez were in Brazil for the country’s own D23, the new Captain America reacted to fighting Robert Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom once the former Iron Man actor takes up the role. In his words:
