It was DeBrusk’s first game against Boston after spending the first seven seasons of his career with the Bruins, who selected him with the No. 14 pick of the 2015 NHL Draft. The 28-year-old forward signed a seven-year contract with Vancouver as a free agent on July 1.

Jake DeBrusk scored a power-play goal in his return to Boston, and Kevin Lankinen made 32 saves as the Vancouver Canucks beat the Bruins 2-0 on Tuesday night. Conor Garland assisted on DeBrusk's goal and added an empty-netter with 13 seconds left.

The Bruins put forth a strong effort Tuesday night with a terrific defensive effort and 32 shots on net. It caught the attention of former forward Jake DeBrusk, who thought his former team "played the better game" in Boston's loss to the Canucks.
