The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued winter storm warnings and advisories across seven states: Michigan, Indiana, Alaska, Tennessee, New York, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Blowing snowfall, hazardous travel conditions and reduced visibility are expected in many areas.

A lake-effect storm continued to blanket parts of the Great Lakes region with snow on Saturday, closing highways on one of the biggest travel weekends of the year and prompting Gov. Kathy Hochul of New York to declare a state of emergency on Friday in 11 counties.

More than 3 feet of snow has already been reported to the NWS across parts of Ashtabula County. Totals in the warned counties range from 5 inches to 39 inches. Lake-effect in a nutshell! Meanwhile, the rest of NEO has seen minimal or no snow since Thanksgiving.
