Tributes have been paid to a “lively and happy” 12-year-old boy stabbed to death in Birmingham yesterday. Leo Ross was killed after being stabbed in broad daylight near Scribers Lane in Hall Green at approximately 3.15pm. The West Midlands force said he was stabbed in the stomach and taken to hospital but sadly died at around 7.30pm.

Another boy, 14, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. The 12-year-old was taken to hospital but died as a result of his injuries. The force said his family had been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
