The Chicago Bears are starting a new era with interim head coach Thomas Brown, who replaces Matt Eberflus, who was fired on Friday after another brutal losing streak marred by coaching decisions and a lack of accountability.

While Thomas Brown was the most qualified choice to be Bears interim coach after they fired Matt Eberflus, there was some concern about tinkering with a structure that was working for rookie quarterback Caleb Williams.

Interim Head Coach Thomas Brown—who not long ago was named offensive coordinator after Shane Waldron was also fired from that position—will be in charge next Sunday as the 4-8 Bears take on the San Francisco 49ers and try to snap an eight-game skid.
